It's the 2040s, and Professor Junichirou Yamano has managed to build something incredible: tiny robots called Little Battlers eXperience, or LBX, that pack absolutely devastating power. Yamano's convinced they'll reshape the world someday. That dream gets cut short when his plane disappears over the Pacific along with his design team, never to be found again. Fast forward a few years. Someone invents super-durable cardboard, which leads to the creation of miniature battle arenas where kids can control their LBXs remotely and pit them against each other. It's become a huge thing. Ban, Yamano's son, is desperate to get into it too—he's got his father's passion for LBX—but his mom won't let him have one. Everything changes when a wounded woman in a lab coat shows up and shoves a mysterious suitcase into his hands before vanishing from whoever's chasing her. Inside is LBX AX-00, a one-of-a-kind model that becomes Ban's partner Achilles. Turns out, this robot might be humanity's only shot at survival.
