Synopsis

Sixteen-year-old Mei Tachibana has sworn off friendship. After getting bullied as a kid, she decided people just weren't worth the heartache. She's basically a loner—cold, distant, and perfectly fine with it. Then there's Yamato Kurosawa, the polar opposite. He's the popular guy every girl wants, the type who flirts with everyone and has already cycled through several girlfriends in their year. When he notices Mei's icy attitude, something clicks. He decides he's going to be her friend, no matter what she does to push him away. Everything changes after an incident where Yamato rescues her from a stalker. Mei starts catching feelings, and before she knows it, they're actually dating. It's unexpected enough to shock their classmates, especially the jealous girls who had their eyes on Yamato. As their relationship deepens, Mei has to figure out if what she feels is real or just a reaction to finally having someone care about her. More importantly, she needs to find the strength to actually say those three words—words she's probably never said to anyone.
