Synopsis

It's 1921 in Tokyo, where giant steam-powered robots suddenly crash a peaceful flower-viewing party—only to be sliced down by a young girl in kimono and hakama wielding a sword. Eight years have passed since a devastating Demon War left Japan in relative peace and prosperity. Ensign Ogami Ichiro has just graduated from the Naval Academy and expects a normal military assignment in Tokyo. Instead, he discovers his "headquarters" is actually the Imperial Theater, and his first job is taking tickets at the gate. He dutifully goes through the motions, surrounded by mysterious beautiful women who clearly know way more than they're letting on. Before long, he gets pulled into a strange world of rogue robots, demons, and girls in military uniforms who are far more capable than they initially appear.
