It's the late '90s, and a phantom thief called Kaitou Jeanne has been making headlines—supposedly a divine messenger sent to steal paintings across the city. What nobody knows is that Jeanne is actually Maron Kusakabe, a 16-year-old rhythmic gymnast and student at Momokuri Academy. Even her best friend Miyako, who heads up the police investigation into the thefts, has no idea. The paintings Maron targets aren't random—they contain demons planted by a demon lord who's trying to weaken God's power by possessing human hearts. Maron's got help from Finn Fish, a minor angel, but the real burden falls on her: as the reincarnation of Jeanne d'Arc, she has to hunt down these cursed paintings and seal the demons away. Balancing that with her actual teenage life is already brutal, and things get worse when another phantom thief shows up. Kaitou Sinbad's arrival throws everything off, making an already impossible situation way more complicated.
