Onmyou Taisenki
The Onmyou Taisenki manga is actually a prequel to the anime, set years before those events. It follows Yakumo, who also appears in the anime adaptation, as the son of Monju—the head priest at Taihaku Shrine. The trouble kicks off when Mahoroba, Monju's former teacher who's been locked up at the shrine, manages to escape. She quickly gains power and turns Yakumo's father into stone. From there, the story focuses on Yakumo's journey learning to work with Shikigami for the first time. He trains under Izuna, the shrine's miko, and the two set out tracking down Mahoroba across different periods of Japanese history. Along the way, they encounter real historical figures like Oda Nobunaga.
