Chizuko Date is an otaku living in a city in Niigata Prefecture who's obsessed with Berry Blossom, the local magical girl hero. The problem is, Berry Blossom's nemesis Chroma—leader of the evil organization Fossa Magna—is basically incompetent, so nobody really cares about their battles anymore. Determined to get people to recognize Berry Blossom's greatness, Chizuko throws herself into the effort. What starts as a shy middle schooler's innocent fandom mission quickly spirals into something much weirder, dragging her into contact with increasingly strange people.
