Eikyuu Shoujo
Silver is a teenage girl living in late 19th-century Europe with distinctively silver-colored hair. She's been plagued by some kind of chronic illness her whole life, and despite her exhausted mother's best efforts to pay for treatments, nothing works. The local legend is pretty dark—supposedly the Devil walks around disguised as a handsome man, seducing young women so he can steal their lifespan and become immortal. In the village's collective mind, Silver and her mother are already his victims, and a mysterious foreign bachelor named Crow, who dresses entirely in black, is the Devil himself. Silver doesn't really care about the rumors until one night when she watches a hooded figure reduce her mother to literal dust right in front of her. She blacks out after that. When she wakes up, Crow's there, and he basically says she has no one else, so she might as well come with him. They stay together through the early 1900s, and here's the thing: neither of them ages noticeably. Silver eventually pieces together that neither of them can be fully human. But the question that haunts her is when—exactly when—did she stop being human?
