Long ago, the asteroid Kumaria exploded in space. Its fragments fell to Earth as a meteor shower, and for reasons unknown, bears worldwide suddenly turned violent and began attacking humans. What followed was "Man vs. Bear"—an endless cycle of bloodshed where bears hunted humans and humans hunted bears in return. Eventually, both sides agreed to an uneasy peace, separated by a massive barrier called the "Wall of Extinction." Fast forward to the present day. At Arashigaoka Academy, two students named Kureha Tsubaki and Sumika Izumino discover a "Yuri Flower" blooming in a flower bed—a place that means everything to both of them as friends and lovers. Then the Bear Alarms suddenly sound. Bears are breaching the wall and attacking humans again. But something doesn't add up. Are these really the same bears from before? One question leads to another, pulling them deeper into a mystery that keeps getting stranger. So begins Yuri Kuma Arashi.
