Synopsis

Sumo is a divine ritual, a martial art, and a combat sport all rolled into one. So naturally, a scrawny kid named Ushio Hinomaru shows up at Oodachi High School's pathetic little sumo club. In a sport where size and weight are basically the law, Ushio is about as wrong for the job as it gets. But that doesn't stop him from diving in headfirst. He and the club's handful of members start their climb toward the top, with their sights set on the ultimate prize: becoming Yokozuna, the highest rank in professional sumo. It's a high school sumo story, and there are no second takes.
