Private detective Reiji Akiba has figured out what's really going on with all those weird coincidences and awkward moments that happen to everyone—they're actually messages from the dead. The problem is, most people can't see what's really there or do anything about it. Akiba's different. He can see the ghosts attached to these strange encounters, and he's got the gun to deal with them: the Kagutsuchi, a weapon capable of killing things that aren't technically alive.
