Satoru Mikami is just your average 37-year-old Tokyo office worker when a random robber stabs him on the street. As he's bleeding out, his only real regret is dying a virgin—until some weird AI voice starts talking to him. Then everything goes black. He wakes up in a cave, except now he's a blob of slime. Turns out this new form comes with some pretty useful perks: he can absorb anything and copy its abilities and appearance. While he's messing around testing this out, he discovers a massive dragon named Veldora who's been trapped in the cave for three hundred years. After they hit it off, Rimuru agrees to help free him, and in return gets a proper name: Rimuru Tempest. Done with the boring, pointless life he had before, Rimuru sets out on an adventure that'll completely reshape both his destiny and the world around him.
