Synopsis

During the Edo period, a shrine maiden named Itsukihime lives in the mountain village of Kadono. Jinta, a stranger who's taken on the role of her guardian, ventures into the forest to fight a mysterious demon—but instead of a simple battle, the demon reveals knowledge of a distant future. What follows is an epic Japanese fantasy that spans from the Edo period all the way to modern Heisei times, following a demon man as he jumps through the centuries. Throughout his journey, he constantly grapples with what it really means to wield a sword.
