Mitsumi Iwakura just moved from a small town in Ishikawa to Tokyo for high school, and she's got big plans. Law school, public service—the whole nine yards. She's mapped out her entire future down to the details. Of course, she also wants to actually enjoy herself and make some friends along the way, so she figures high school is her chance to do both. Then her first day happens. She misses her train stop and nearly blows the entrance ceremony, which is a disaster because she's supposed to give a speech on behalf of the new students. While she's panicking, Sousuke Shima—a cute first-year who's also running late—offers to walk with her. They make it to school, but Mitsumi immediately does something embarrassing that tanks her first impression with basically everyone. Still, something clicks between her and Sousuke, and their classmates definitely notice. Despite being total opposites, they just work somehow. With the school year off to a chaotic start, Mitsumi's ready to dive in and get to know people. She's a country kid trying to make it in the city, but at least she won't be doing it alone—that much is clear.
