Centuries ago, Master Ozune Enno bound the demon guardian Zenki to fight evil, especially the threat of Karuma. Once the threat was dealt with, Zenki was sealed away until he'd be needed again. Fast forward to the present day: Chiaki Enno, a schoolgirl and descendant of the original Enno line, can break Zenki's seal whenever necessary. The catch is that Zenki stays in a small child form as punishment for being defiant, so Chiaki uses a magical bracelet that appears on her wrist to transform him into his full adult fighting form. The main enemy comes in the form of Karuma's Seeds, which turn people into monsters that embody various human vices. Zenki defeats these monsters and consumes the Seeds to gain power. By the third season, another demon guardian named Goki joins the team. Goki can amplify Zenki's abilities to the next level and typically shields the rest of the group during fights. Outside of battle, Goki takes the form of a boy named Akira. Chiaki's support team includes her grandmother Saki, Saki's brother Abbot Jukai, and Jukai's assistant Kurabayashi. They're occasionally helped out by a hero named Souma Miki.
