Life means suffering—aging, sickness, death, and everything in between. Buddhism offers the path to escape it. Once, a prince achieved enlightenment, became the Buddha, and saved the world. But that was ages ago. Now, in this degenerate age, Mara—the demon of doubt who once threatened the Buddha's awakening—is back and pissed. He's made a deal with the devil to get his revenge, and he's using people's anxieties as weapons to destroy them from within. Standing against him is the Thirteen Buddhas, led by the Buddha himself, along with two protective deities: Taishakuten and Bonten. They're ready to fight. And so begins an otherworldly war over the fate of humanity, with people caught right in the middle.
