Synopsis

Rephrase Yukiteru Amano is a shy middle schooler who gets dragged into a deadly survival game by Deus Ex Machina, a god who's offering his godly powers to whoever wins. Twelve players total—including Yukiteru—are chosen because they all keep diaries. The catch? Their diaries have been transformed into "Future Diaries" that can predict the future with varying degrees of accuracy. Yukiteru's diary, which he keeps on his phone, is called a "Random Diary." It shows him detailed info about his immediate surroundings, but not much else. He'd rather not fight anyone, but when survival instinct kicks in, he partners up with Yuno Gasai, a girl from his class who's also a diary holder. She's attractive, charming even—and completely obsessed with him. The battle royale gets messier and bloodier as it goes on, but then things take a wild turn. Revelations start popping up that completely change how the game actually works and what's really going on.
