The autonomous city of Ainz thrives on advanced magic and sorcery—until a strangely beautiful young man with one eye, one arm, and one leg shows up and throws everything into chaos. This is Ains Silvettas, the legendary sorcerer who actually founded the entire civilization two thousand years ago. He's been holed up in a cabin in the woods all this time, just doing magical research. When he finally steps outside after getting stuck on a problem, he's shocked to discover that his old notes have been turned into a sacred grimoire and that people now worship him as a Demon God. Ains has no idea any of this happened, so he just keeps wandering around pursuing his magical research and curiosity. But every time he uncovers some truth about how the world works, he accidentally upsets the balance between entire nations. It's a surprisingly chill fantasy about an absurdly overpowered Demon God who's really just trying to figure stuff out.
