A Campione—a Godslayer—is someone who's achieved the impossible: killing a god. And that means they've got access to divine powers themselves. They're basically untouchable among mortals, operating on a completely different level. Kusanagi Godou was just a regular 16-year-old who'd made a name for himself in junior high baseball as a catcher and cleanup hitter. But an injury derailed all that. Then, during spring break of his final year, everything changed. He got pulled into something way bigger than himself and ended up killing Verethragna, one of the Heretic Gods. Suddenly, he was a Campione—the seventh one, and the youngest ever recorded. Now Godou has to figure out what being a Godslayer actually means. With some help from his followers, he takes on the gods that cause problems for humanity. It's basically his job now, whether he signed up for it or not.
