In 2036, scientists discovered a fourth dimension called Dimension W, which became humanity's new unlimited power source. Special devices called Coils tap into this dimension and distribute its energy globally through New Tesla Energy and government infrastructure. But not everyone's happy about it—Kyouma Mabuchi is an illegal Coil collector who actively rejects the technology. He's old-school all the way: drives a gas-powered car, pays in cash, and refuses to adapt to this new world. Everything changes when Kyouma crosses paths with Mira Yurizaki, a gyroid who needs Coils to save her dying father—the guy who founded New Tesla Energy in the first place. Despite his reluctance, Kyouma agrees to let her tag along while he hunts illegal modified Coils. As the two investigate where these bootleg Coils are coming from, they start discovering some seriously messed-up secrets about New Tesla Energy. Even stranger, they realize their own pasts are somehow connected to all of it.
