Yuunagi no Machi (Town of Evening Calm) Ten years after the atomic bombing devastated Hiroshima in 1945, the city is slowly rebuilding. Minami Hirano and her mother are scraping together money to find Minami's younger brother, who got separated from them during the chaos. Minami works hard and keeps pushing forward, but she's haunted by traumatic memories of what happened—memories that keep getting triggered by the lingering scars the bombing left on the city. She's trying to find the strength to face her past and move toward a better future. Sakura no Kioni (Country of Cherry Blossoms) Fifth grader Nanami Ishikawa's life is pretty routine: she walks home with her best friend and neighbor Touko, goes to baseball practice, and visits her sick younger brother in the hospital. Even 17 years after the bombing, nothing much has changed. But then her father starts disappearing for entire days, claiming he just went for walks. Suspicious and worried about him, Nanami decides to follow him and discovers he's been going to Hiroshima—a place that turns out to be much more connected to her life than she ever knew.
