Kurou Sakuragawa, a 22-year-old college student, recently broke up with his girlfriend after panicking and running off when they ran into a kappa. Kotoko sees an opportunity—she's immediately interested in him and figures marriage could be in the cards. But she quickly picks up on something off about Kurou, something unusual. Rather than backing off, she decides to recruit his help investigating the supernatural cases that come her way. As they work together, she's secretly hoping he'll eventually fall for her.
