It's early autumn in the Uchihama area, right around the turn of the 21st century. Uchihama Academy is expanding fast, and they're putting up a brand new building to prove it. That means the old campus is getting torn down—but not before one last General Club Festival. The students are determined to make it unforgettable. Sou Akiyama's in the Astronomy Club, which happens to be packed with some of the most popular people at school. Just before the festival kicks off on October 1st, the student council hits them up with a favor: help ease everyone's nerves. Something weird is going on in the old building—ghost sightings, random accidents, kids suddenly falling asleep—and students are freaked out. Then Yui Furukawa shows up. She's a quiet transfer student who just joined the school, and her arrival sets everything in motion.
