A demon lord once ruled unchallenged until a hero strong enough to defeat him finally appeared. To prevent that kind of threat from ever happening again, the kingdom built Rosewood Academy—a training ground for the next generation of heroes. Fast forward to today, and Rosewood Academy is packed with the cream of the crop. Arnest Flaming is the best student there is—so good they call her the Empress of Flame. Her perfect record gets shaken up when she runs into some guy in the hallway who seems just as powerful as she is, except she's never seen him before in her life. He casually introduces himself as Blade and completely throws her off with his laid-back attitude. Turns out, Blade's a new transfer student, and it gets better—or worse, depending on how you look at it. The King himself has personally asked Arnest to show Blade the ropes and help him adjust to life at the academy. So now the school's most elite student has to babysit the mysterious newcomer who might actually be her equal.
