Synopsis

Yuuki Asuna was a straight-A student consumed by cram school and entrance exam prep until she borrowed her brother's VR headset and got trapped in Sword Art Online along with ten thousand other players. As the days drag on, she worries about what's waiting for her in the real world—whether she'll be seen as a failure by her family and classmates. Rather than sit around hoping someone else clears the game, Asuna decides to tackle it herself. She applies the same discipline she used for studying to mastering both the game mechanics and swordplay, and her natural talent catches the eye of Kirito, a skilled player who recruits her to join the front-line guild. Now Asuna has to decide: is she ready to leave her old life of academic rankings behind and risk everything fighting her way through the game?
