Synopsis

Yukari Hayasaka, a high school senior, gets ambushed by two weirdly dressed people and passes out from the shock. She wakes up in the basement studio of Paradise Kiss, a fashion design club at Yazawa School for the Arts, surrounded by four equally eccentric students. It turns out they've basically kidnapped her—but only because they want her to model for their upcoming fashion show. Yukari's not interested. She's got a packed schedule and turns them down flat. But then George Koizumi, the group's leader, grabs her dropped student passbook and uses it to pressure her into at least thinking about it. After hearing how genuinely driven these people are, Yukari starts reconsidering her own life. Eventually she agrees to do it. As Paradise Kiss's new model, Yukari tries to juggle her responsibilities with everything else going on in her life. But the more time she spends with George and the crew, the harder it gets to resist getting pulled into the fashion world's appeal.
