Hortensia Saga
Duke Rugis Camellia's violent uprising destroys the Kingdom of Hortensia, wiping out the royal family. Maurice Baudelaire barely survives the rebellion, but his brother Fernando Albert is killed by a werewolf during the fighting. To honor Fernando's memory, Maurice seeks out his nephew Alfred Ober and gives him his father's sword. Despite his grief, Alfred remembers the promise he made to his father—to become a knight and protect the Albert Dominion. With Maurice as his mentor, Alfred trains hard to master swordsmanship and keep that vow. His training partner is Marius Casterede, a mysterious boy who seems older than he appears. Meanwhile, Pope Alexi Valdebron orders the search for the missing princess while crowning Charlot D'Hortensia as the new king. As Hortensia descends into darkness, Alfred, Marius, and Maurice band together with allies both old and new to restore hope to the kingdom.
