Synopsis

Ayumu Shiiba isn't the best student, but she decides to push herself hard so she can attend Nishidate High School alongside her best friend Yuuko Shinozuka. When exam results come back, Ayumu passes—Shinozuka doesn't. That's when Shinozuka drops a bomb: she's resented Ayumu the whole time. Devastated and alone, Ayumu turns to self-harm to cope with the loneliness. She becomes a loner at her new school, keeping everyone at arm's length. Things start looking up when classmate Manami Anzai reaches out and befriends her—except nothing stays good for long. Life follows one girl's descent into isolation, bullying, and despair. It's a story brutal enough to break anyone, but only the toughest will find their way out of the darkness.
