In the near future, humanity lost a catastrophic war against Gastrea, a parasitic virus that's left civilization on the brink of collapse. Now people survive behind protective barriers, constantly under threat. Rentarou and Enju work as specialists for the Tendo Civil Security Agency, one of several organizations tasked with fighting the virus. Enju is one of the "cursed children"—kids who were infected but survived, gaining superhuman abilities in the process. While a dangerous top-hat-wearing terrorist is wreaking havoc somewhere out there, Rentarou's actually got bigger problems: dealing with the mess and drama from his own coworkers at the agency.
