Sousuke Tooka—also known as Goriemon or Tokatada—spent years as a salaryman before deciding to chase his childhood dream of becoming a manga artist. He didn't start until his 40s, launching his debut series Ousama Ranking in 2017 on Manga Hack. The webcomic exploded in popularity and became a genuine worldwide phenomenon.

The character Prince Bojji was heavily inspired by silent protagonists in RPGs, which Tooka felt created a more immersive experience for players. He does have a mild hearing issue himself, though he's noted this had little bearing on Bojji's development.

Before committing to manga, Tooka actually tried his hand at children's book illustration and even won major prizes in contests, but ultimately abandoned that path in favor of webcomics. Growing up in a conservative household where manga and anime were strictly forbidden meant he never told his parents about his career—a secret he's kept to this day. Living a quiet life as a bachelor with just his cats, he's described his old existence as comfortable but dull and repetitive. Still, he's always known what he wanted to do.

His influences are pretty classic: he cites Kinnikuman and Dragon Ball as favorites, with Akira Toriyama ranking as his most influential artist. He's also into One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, and GeGeGe no Kitarou. Beyond manga, he has a soft spot for fairy tales with happy endings and counts The NeverEnding Story among his favorite films.
