A Japanese artist who's basically the visual backbone of Final Fantasy for years. He's responsible for designing some of the series' most iconic characters—the kind of work fans still reference constantly. During Final Fantasy XII's development, he decided to leave Square Enix and go freelance instead of sticking around to finish the project.
These days he's working as art director on Granblue Fantasy, which lets him oversee the whole visual direction rather than just character design. His influence on both franchises is pretty massive among people who care about game aesthetics.
