Birthplace: Benifaió, Valence, Spain
Spanish-born French singer who rose to prominence in the 1970s. He's best known for singing the French theme to the anime Goldorak (also known as UFO Robo Grendizer), which he recorded in 1978. His tenor voice was remarkably similar to the original Japanese singer Isao Sasaki's, making him a natural fit for the role.
The gig didn't last long, though. A controversy erupted over certain lyrics in the French adaptation—specifically the line "defend our race"—and the network made the decision to replace him with singer Noam for subsequent broadcasts. Despite this, Enrique's version never completely disappeared. His recordings continued to play in the background of various episodes and reruns, keeping his contributions alive in the ears of French fans.
Two tracks in particular stuck around: "Accours Vers Nous, Prince de l'Espace" and "Va Combattre Ton Ennemi." For many who grew up watching the show, those songs remain memorable touchstones of the series, even if they weren't the official theme for long.
