Haro Aso got his start when Shonen Sunday recognized his work "YUNGE!" with a Manga College Award in 2004. He'd previously worked as an assistant to Makoto Raiku before getting his real shot at a series. His short story "Onigami Amon" caught enough attention in 2007 that he was given the green light to develop his own ongoing manga. That led to Hyde & Closer, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Sunday in 2008 and marked his first serialization.
