GARNiDELiA is a music duo made up of MARiA, a vocalist, and toku, a composer and producer. Toku has worked behind the scenes on hit tracks for major artists like Angela Aki, LiSA, and An Café. MARiA came up as an internet singer, regularly collaborating with producers like Jin and performing as a guest vocalist across various projects.

The two connected in 2010 and officially formed GARNiDELiA, with the name roughly translating to "The Place Maria Sings." Even before their official debut, they gained serious traction online—MARiA's uploaded videos have clocked over 2 million views thanks to her vocal abilities, and she's also known for dancing, with her first dance video "girl" hitting 650,000 views. Toku's production chops are equally impressive; his signature track "SPiCa" alone surpassed 1 million views, and his catalog tops 10 million total.

Before the unit was formalized, their collaboration "COLOR" became the theme song for the anime Freezing, which helped build anticipation for what came next. Their major label debut arrived in spring 2014 with the single "ambiguous," which landed as the opening theme for Kill la Kill—the timing and song choice immediately put them on the map.

The duo has cycled through several record labels over the years: DefSTAR Records (2014-2015), SME Records (2015-2017), SACRA MUSIC (2017-2019), USM Japan (2020-2021), and Pony Canyon from 2021 onward.

On September 2, 2025, GARNiDELiA announced an indefinite hiatus.
