Yoshiko Misumi studied Textile Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts. In 2010, she graduated from the Department of Animation of the Graduate School of Film and New Media also at Tokyo University of the Arts. Misumi has contributed to multiple NHK programs, including Minna no Uta, Okasan To Issho, and A Tale of Carefree King, for which she received Jury Recommendations in both 2007 and 2008 at the Japan Media Arts Festival. Her independent films have also won many awards internationally. Misumi currently works as an independent animator, and illustrator.
