Arashi is a Japanese boy band made up of five members: leader Ohno Satoshi, Sakurai Sho, Aiba Masaki, Ninomiya Kazunari, and Matsumoto Jun. They formed on September 15, 1999 in Honolulu, Hawaii, and are based in Tokyo.
The group hit a major milestone in 2009 for their tenth anniversary—they became Japan's best-selling artist that year by dominating the charts simultaneously across singles, albums, and music DVDs.
After 2020, the band entered hiatus.
