Tsukasa Hojo got his start in manga while studying technical design at Kyushu Sangyo University. He's best known as the mentor to Takehiko Inoue, who'd go on to create the basketball phenomenon Slam Dunk. Hojo has also maintained a long friendship with Tetsuo Hara, the creator of Fist of the North Star—he even contributed character design work for the character Reina in the 2006 film Hokuto no Ken: Raō Den - Jun'ai no Shō.
