Born in Beijing in 1968, Gong Yu holds a Ph.D. in Automatic Control Theory and Applications from Tsinghua University's Department of Automation.
He's best known as the founder and CEO of iQIYI, China's major video streaming platform. Before that, he founded Focus.cn in 1999, which became a large-scale comprehensive portal website. He launched iQIYI in 2010 and has led it since.
