Doujin Circle: Kamonegi Switchblade
Yasuhiro Nightow is best known for creating Trigun, the manga series that spawned a hugely popular anime adaptation and film. He's also the character designer behind Gungrave (both the anime and video game), and since 2009 he's been the author of Blood Blockade Battlefront, which has become one of his signature ongoing works.
Before becoming a full-time manga artist, Nightow studied social science and media studies at Housei University. He started drawing manga as a side hobby during his college years, experimenting with doujinshi. After graduation, things took a detour—he spent about three and a half years working for Sekisui House in apartment sales before deciding the corporate world wasn't for him. He quit to pursue manga full-time.
His early professional work included a one-shot based on Samurai Spirits, the popular video game franchise, and a story called Call XXXX that ran in Super Jump magazine. From there, he'd go on to create the works that made him a name in the industry.
