He's an American animator who studied at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn before landing freelance work with various American studios. What really set him apart was making the jump to Japan—he worked at Studio Pierrot and later D'Art Shtajio, which is pretty rare for an American animator. He's one of the few who've managed to break into the Japanese animation industry that way.
