Gaku Kinoshita is a Tokyo-born animator and filmmaker who's built his career moving between London and Japan. He studied at Central Saint Martins and later earned a master's degree from the Royal College of Art, then spent several years at the London-based studio Passion Pictures handling commercials and character design work. In 2008 he moved back to Tokyo and has been working independently ever since.
Since then, he's become known for directing commercials, music videos, and station IDs, but his real reputation comes from his short films. His work has screened and picked up awards all over the world—his most celebrated piece, For Your Blossom, has made the rounds at festivals in over 30 countries. He runs SepiaWorks as its representative director.
