TWO-MIX is a Japanese electronic pop duo formed in 1995 by Minami Takayama (vocals, composition) and Shiina Nagano (synthesizer, lyrics). Their sound is defined by fast-paced, synth-driven pop.
The two met in the early 1990s through mutual friends. Takayama was already established as a voice actress and was performing in the indie band RE-X at the time. They first collaborated on Takayama's 1992 solo album Endless Communication, which Nagano contributed to, before forming a group together called Es Connexion and releasing an album. TWO-MIX came together as their official project in 1995.
The group became known for their anime soundtrack work. They've contributed to series including Gundam Wing and Case Closed, where Takayama also voices the protagonist Conan Edogawa. Fans often note their memorable guest appearance in a Case Closed episode where they were kidnapped and rescued by Conan and his friends—a meta moment that blended their music career with the show's narrative.
