Georges Bizet was a French composer during the Romantic era whose career never really took off until right before he died. He's best known for his operas, and while most of his work didn't get much traction at the time, his final opera Carmen became one of the most performed and beloved pieces in the entire opera canon. His early death essentially cut his career short just as he was finally finding success.
