Tenmon (天門), born Atsushi Shirakawa, is a Japanese composer from Tokyo. He's been making video game music since the early '90s, working as part of Falcom Sound Team J.D.K. at Nihon Falcom Corporation—he's credited on a bunch of their releases, with Brandish being his most recognized work from that era.
But he's probably best known these days for his film scores. He met filmmaker Makoto Shinkai while they were both working at Minori, and that connection led to a long collaboration. Starting with Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko, Tenmon went on to compose for nearly all of Shinkai's major works: The Garden of Words, The Children Who Chase Lost Voices, 5 Centimeters per Second, and Your Name—that last one being a massive commercial hit. His scores have become pretty integral to Shinkai's visual style at this point.
