Kentaro Yabuki is a Japanese manga artist from Kochi, best known for Black Cat, the action series that ran in Weekly Shounen Jump from 2000 to 2004 before getting an anime adaptation. He's trained under Takeshi Obata, who illustrated Death Note and Hikaru no Go, so his pedigree in the industry runs deep.
When Black Cat wrapped up, Yabuki mentioned wanting to revisit those characters or create a sequel—something that never quite materialized. Since then, he's shifted primarily to illustration work, collaborating with writers on their projects. His most notable gig has been To Love-Ru, where he teamed up with writer Saki Hasemi, who used to assist him.
