He caught the animation bug early—specifically after watching Macross: Do You Remember Love? in elementary school. Throughout middle and high school, he focused on art, and eventually pursued animation at university. When it came time to study abroad, he chose Japan over the US, drawn to the country's thriving hand-drawn animation scene. After graduating from Chiyoda Institute of Technology and Arts, he landed at Studio Comet in 2005 to start his professional career.

His big break came when Studio MAPPA's founder Masao Maruyama scouted him, leading to a move that accelerated his trajectory. He made his directorial debut in 2017 with Garo: Vanishing Line.

In March 2021, he founded E&H Production and serves as its Representative Director.
