Martin Short is a Canadian-American actor and comedian who's done pretty much everything in entertainment—acting, writing, singing, voice work, you name it. He's best known for his sketch comedy on SCTV and Saturday Night Live, where he built his reputation as a genuinely funny performer.
His film career peaked in the late '80s and '90s with a string of comedies: Three Amigos, Innerspace, the Father of the Bride films, Mars Attacks!, and Jungle 2 Jungle among them. Beyond the movie roles, he's created some genuinely memorable characters over the years—most notably Jiminy Glick and Ed Grimley, both of which have become part of comedy lore.
Theater has always been part of his work too. He won a Tony Award in 1999 for starring in the Broadway revival of Little Me, which cemented his range as an entertainer beyond just film and TV.
