LMYK is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Osaka, Japan, with a Japanese mother and a German father. She grew up in this multicultural household before eventually heading to New York City for college, where she started writing and performing music seriously. Her early work caught the attention of the legendary production duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who came on board to produce her material.
