Seiko Tanabe was a Japanese novelist who left her mark on the literary world with several major award wins. She studied Japanese Literature at Shouin Joshi Senmon Gakkou and went on to become prolific and celebrated—picking up the Akutagawa Prize, Yomiuri Prize, and Asahi Prize over her career. Her contributions to literature were significant enough that she eventually received the Order of Culture.
