Shigara Okada started his independent production of stop-motion films using 8mm film in a film club at university. After graduating from university, he continued his independent production while working for a company, and then started working as a freelance stop-motion animator. He continues to produce his own independent works while participating as an animator in the production of stop-motion television programs and commercials.
