Synopsis

For the past 13 years, the Nefarious Monster Army has launched attacks from their floating fortress every Sunday, trying to conquer Earth. The Dragon Keepers show up to fight them off—and they're good at it. After crushing most of the monsters during the initial invasion, they've basically made a routine of mopping up whatever's left. Here's the thing nobody knows: these battles stopped being real a long time ago. Both sides are in on it. The Dragon Keepers get all the glory and attention from fighting what they claim are dangerous enemies, while the weakest monsters—called Dusters—get to stick around another week. It's basically a performance, and everyone's cool with it. Sentouin D, a Duster sick of this humiliating cycle, decides he's done. He bails from the fortress to actually change things. That's when he meets Yumeko Suzukiri, a mysterious ranger who becomes an unexpected ally. Together they figure out the real weakness: the Dragon Keepers rely on Divine Artifacts—these special weapons that give them their powers and let them transform. D and Suzukiri hatch a plan to break into the base of Red Keeper Sousei Akabane and go after these artifacts. If they pull it off, they might actually have a shot at saving their species from the humans who've been playing them this whole time.
